Is-sinjal għal CHIPS għandu żewġ partijiet. (i) L-ewwel isir is-sinjal għal PATATA. Id waħda tieqaf bil-forma ta’ 5 kkurvata u bil-pala tħares ’il fuq. L-id l-oħra tieħu l-forma ta’ L bil-werrej ikkurvat u l-id tagħti xi tliet skossi lura ’l fuq mill-id il-wieqfa waqt li żżomm il-post. (ii) Imbagħad iż-żewġ idejn jieħdu l-forma ta’ Q bil-pala tħares ’il barra u jersqu minn-nofs għall-ġnub biex is-swaba’ jagħmlu l-forma ta’ strippi.

The sign for CHIPS has two parts. (i) First the sign for POTATO is made. One hand is held stationary in the shape of curved 5 with palm facing upwards. The other hand takes the shape of L with a curved index finger and the hand makes three jerky movements backwards a little above the stationary hand whilst keeping its place. (ii) Then both hands take the shape of Q with palm facing outwards. The hands move from the middle to the sides so that the fingers form the shape of strips.
